I'm rely on the control panel OneClick (westcodesoft.com) as an interface
for AppleScript (and where AppleScript is too awkward, their EasyScript --
which is a terrific and inexpensive way to script Photoshop, BTW).

There is a OneClick extension that permits the use of dialogs without
requiring any Toolbox expertise.
