There are, unfortunately, too many authors who assume that Linux == Little-Endian-Chip-That-Can't-Do-Floating-Point, and don't check endian.h. Of the tests that are at CPAN testers (good thing it hasn't moved to perl.org yet, or it wouldn't be available tonight), there's a fail on a Sparc and a sort-of-pass on an Intel, both running Solaris. I have built libdes under LinuxPPC, though, and it passes all tests, so it's possible to get it right. } } Arved } ----- Paul J.
