Those look suspiciously like what one would get if ftp.perl.org was down.
Since it was down yesterday, my guess is that that was the actual
problem.

I'm just wondering what happened to the one that comes with MacPerl.

Anyway. it's been a long time, but as I recall, Configure produces a file
named Net/Config.pm. Rename it to Config.pm , drag it to :site-perl:Net: ,
and it should work.
