Try doubling it if you can. The MPW Shell in which I'm running the MacPerl tool has 9MB. The ToolServer in which I have just run it has 40MB. It actually managed to display the dialog in the simplified script three or four times, and run the app in the original script, and I was just beginning to jump up and down and think the problem was solved when I tried to run the original script a second time, and the machine froze. Command-Control-Power brought it back this time. I didn't quit the ToolServer in between runs.
