[MacPerl] Memory Managment

Does anyone know whether or not MacPerl relinquishes the memory it uses for
storing variables after a script finishes executing? I have a script that
processes data files that are typically 1 Mb in size, and uses a few
multidimentional arrays to store data. I found that I needed to give
MacPerl a 15 Mb memory partition to avoid "Out of memory!" errors. I
noticed that the memory bar indicator for MacPerl in the "About This
Macintosh" dialog starts out at 1/8 the maximum length just after the
application starts, and then jumps to 3/4+ the maximum, and stays there
after execution of the script.

Thanks, Mark
