Re: [MacPerl] Current Working directory (vs. directory where the script is running)

One of the better reasons for using MacPerl under MPW!

There IS a directory-like function in the Finder. In the preferences you are
asked where to "take me" when the standard file open or save-as dialogs are
brought up. Unfortunately "current working directory" is not one of them.

The MacOS truly supports a CWD and there are applications - M$Excel - for
instance which allow you to set it. Before system 7.3 or so if you set the
CWD with a system call you could expect save-as to start there. Nomore! It's
either the last folder you used, your "documents" folder. or the folder
which contains the application.
