In the MacPerl distribution folder you will find <MacPerl Ÿ:ext:Mac:> and
example scripts therein which will get you off to a flying start. In
particular look for <:Controls:t:ControlWindow.t> which will pretty much
answer your question above.

Beyond that, head for the book "MacPerl:Power and Ease" by Vicki Brown and
Chris Nandor published by PTF. Full details about the book (and an online
html version) are to be found at

There is also a 'macperl-toolbox@macperl.com' mailing list BTW.
