} bigappl has modules statically compiled in.  You're fortunate that GD
} is one of the ones that Matthias put in.  But if you ever want to use

} available at <http://pudge.net/mmp>, and it isn't in biggapl, you're
} out of luck.  With the cfm68k version, you can use any shared library
} available (well, a few of them don't work as I recall because of bugs
} in the 68k side of things), including GD.

One thing I forgot to say, there are some 68k Macs where the CFM68k
extension doesn't work, and you have no choice about this.  Any 68030
or 68040 should work, I think, but I'm not so sure about the 68020
machines.

The bigappl version should also be slightly faster, but if you're
using a 68k machine these days, you're not interested in speed :-)
(saying this as the owner of a Powerbook 165 that's going to be
replaced before the end of the year).
