Not in the MacPerl app, at present (that I know of).  I think it is that \r
does what you want not in Unix, per se, but in your terminal.  MacPerl does
not have a terminal, but a whiteboard-ish text window.

A terminal emulator for the MacPerl app is on the wish list for many of us.
