The page is pretty interesting, but a little misleading since there are indeed SQL servers that will run on a Mac. PrimeBase (http://www.primebase.com/) and Cloudscape (http://www.cloudscape.com) are available, altho the latter is pure Java and I doubt if it would be very practical to run even under MRJ2.2EA. Butler SQL was pretty nice and I think that there is even a MacPerl module for it, but I can't figure out what happened to the product since Everyware changed its name and is thoroughly Windoze infested now. If Butler's been sold off and is still supported by somebody else, it could be an interesting fit with MacPerl. Otherwise, my suggestion is to either go with Primebase if you want true SQL or to just use FileMaker (for which it seems like Chris was working on some kind of glue file).
