>No, no. Norton *Disk* Doctor. It deals with *any* HFS/HFS+ disk >you can see in the Finder. If you don't have Disk Doctor, you *do* have >Disk First Aid, which has been vastly improved from earlier versions. >If either Norton Disk Doctor or Disk First Aid can't see the disk, >you have serious problems along the lines of "this drive really >doesn't work right with my Mac model/MacOS version". OK maybe we're talking about 2 different situations : I can see the disk, MacPerl(just to keep this on topic) couldn't (but now can). I can examine my Zip disks with Norton DD. I can examine them with Disk First Aid - but in the event I get the dreaded "This disk cannot be read by this computer, do you want to reformat it? dialog I cannot do ought but lose my data. That is, unless I buy a winX comp and then download the handy Norton Zip doodad, it says this in the Zip users manual, or rather it says I should visit the Iomega web site should I need to salvage a disk, which inturn only has a WinX Norton doojammer in the "Cooltool " section (or was it "KewlTewl "). Though I am more than ready to admit I haven't had the (mis)fortune of actually needing to do anything (yet) to salvage a zip disk, so my understanding of the post crash drill may be a tad skewiff. ===== Want to unsubscribe from this list? ===== Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-request@macperl.org
