It has lapsed of late... MacOS Rumors (http://www.macosrumors.com/8-99.html) reported a product called MacO6 (a play on POSIX) is in beta testing now. Mac06 aims to provide a POSIX layer to the MacOS, which will hopefully enable the porting of common UNIX/GNU tools to the Mac. -- Richard L.
