[MacPerl] Porting AppleScript to MacPerl

Hi all!
I have written an AppleScript that moves dragged documents in a target folder: it works ok but, it's... well... kinda slow. I was wondering if using MacPerl I could improve the speed, eventually using Mac::Glue.
Any clues?
