Except what sed calls 'transform' is the "y" operator, which is also in
Perl (still) specifically to keep sed types happy. Same thing, but given
the fineness of our disagreements, enough of a diff to rule this out. :-)

I did the same thing Don did. Looked at the original "programming perl",
where tr/ is associated with the word "translate".

However, if (as Chris asserts) Larry since has come to prefer
"transliterate", who am I to argue? :-)

P.S. I'll propose my interpretation, which is "traumatize".
