[MacPerl] My Job Change

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

This is just a quick note to some friends and colleagues about what I
am doing.

After four and a half good years at Peterson's, I am moving on. I
have accepted a programmer position at Andover.Net, the company that
owns Slashdot, Freshmeat, and a bunch of other sites geared primarily
toward Linux and Open Source software users and developers. I'll be
starting the new job January 24th.

It will be a good opportunity for me. I'll be working in a very
different environment than what I've been working in at Peterson's. I
was the only developer on most projects, working by myself; now I'll
be programming more with others. I was using all sorts of
proprietary technologies; now I will be programming almost entirely
with open source software. I was one of the only Mac users
surrounded by a sea of Windows boxes; now I will be the only Mac user
surrounded by a sea of Linux boxes. I'll be commuting about three
hours a day every day for a couple of months, but then I'll be able
to telecommute a few days a week after that. I was playing Sony
Playstation at home during breaks; now I'll be playing Sega Dreamcast
at work during breaks.

I won't be moving, and my website and email address will remain the
same. I'll be very busy for a few months, so I probably won't pop up
on the 'Net as much as I have been. For awhile.

Have a great week,
