[MacPerl] Writing a personal finance system in MacPerl

Hello,

I have resubscribed to this list after an absence of many months.

I have an LC 575 running System 7.1 with 20 MB Ram, a 160 MB Disk
and Macperl version 5. something.

My immediate MacPerl project is to write a simple text-based
personal finance system to replace Quicken 5 which is not Y2K
compliant, mcuh to my annoyance. If anyone is interested in the
design of this program do let me know and I can send you further
details.

I intend to use the GUI features of MacPerl such as the list box,
Ask, Answer for user input and choosing from lists.

The transaction files and category code files will be simple text files
(comman delimited) so they can be opened with Excel.

Quicken Deluxe is available for System 8.1 ... no use to me...
and it needs 55 MB Disk! Can you believe it!!!! I'm disappointed
that a workhorse program such as Quicken 5 is not Y2K and
there is no reasonable upgrade for me and my old machine.
