[MacPerl] New versions of MacPerl

I see that version 5.6 is out for *nix. Does anyone have a clue when the
MacPerl code is going to catch up? I seem to remember reading "somewhere"
that the perl-porters were working on a common code base, but I just haven't
kept up. I do a lot of programming for Solaris, and I try to keep the
programs cross-platform, but the farther the base diverges, the harder it
gets.

I realize Apple doesn't fund MacPerl like the Evil Empire does ActiveState
Perl, but I wish they did.
