Christopher, I think you've probably heard sufficient advice [good] on the wisdom of contacting Larry [or rather, researching his ideas on the web]. In addition to Larry Wall and the Perl language here's an alternative [in almost every way imaginable... = )]: Guido van Rossum and the Python Language http://www.python.org/~guido/index.html Guido will almost certainly answer you, if you email him. He reads to be [in my humble opinion] a bit of a megalomaniac. He believes his language [Python...] to be the best of all PC languages and has a vision in which all the world's schools teach Python to children [in fact, he's trying to persuade the U.S. government to start up his new world order financially] Read for yourself... It's the modern - and postmodern worlds in a nutshell [sorry, O'Reilly]. BTW...Python runs on the Mac; Apple uses Python [sparingly...] in current Mac OS releases [Apple also uses Perl; check out OS X and 'Carbon Dating']. OK, I took you literally and rambled on like a leaking tanker! Good luck to you in your research!
