Attached is Mac::Serial.pm, an easy-to-use object-oriented Perl5 library for accessing the serial ports on the Macintosh. The distribution can be untarred and ungzipped using untarzipme.plx, part of Chris Nandor's cpan-mac. A StuffIt self-expanding archive is also available and will be provided upon request. This library works on 68k and PowerPC Macintosh systems. Documentation including detailed descriptions, known bugs, to-do items, copyright, and author information can be found in the library itself using Shuck. Version information can be found in the file named 'changes'. A collection of examples demonstrating various features and techniques can be found (not surprisingly) in the examples folder. Unfortunately, Mac::Serial.pm does not provide support for the USB ports on newer Macintosh models even though USB does contain the word serial. :) Best regards, Joseph
