The maximum length of a specified path is larger, maybe 255 chars. I believe
that Apple fulfilled the promise of long file names in HFS+ under MacOS 9,
at least that's what I hear though I haven't tested it. It may require calls
to Carbon, which most apps (including MacPerl) don't do.
