I think I have an older version installed, but I am not using it t= o install the new cpan-mac.) I am not sure what you mean by, "any extra modules installed apart from cpan-mac stuff." I have the standard macperl distrib, which I have updated in some places (libwww, for example), as well as several handfuls of miscellaneous modules in site_perl. When looking at the cpan-mac code it seemed like it would overwrite a bunch of stuff in site_perl. Is this the case, and if so, should I back it up before running cpan-mac? I didn't see anything to this effect in the readme. The complete output from the cpan-mac installer: __BEGIN__ Copying -> Programming:Applications:Development:MacPer= l =9F:site_perl # Died. File 'Programming:Desktop Folder:cpan-mac-0.40:INSTALL.plx'; Line 73 __END__ The line of code in copyit() where it is 'die'ing at prints $^E, which doesn't contain anything, but $! contains "No such file or directory." Thanks for any help you can give. -K "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds" > At 20.34 -0700 2000.03.08, A K Suska wrote: >> I have been trying to install the latest cpan mac but the installer fail= s. >> It appears that File::Find is passing a "." to copyit() which is causing= it >> to choke. That is as far as I got.
