Point MacPerl to:

	MacPerl Ÿ:ext:Mac:Dialogs:t:Nonmodal.t

which will provide a skeleton on which to build your program. It 
pretty much does exactly what you want already.

Browse through the 'ext' folder and the numerous examples will give 
you a flying start into the MacOS Toolbox.
