I have a simple question that I can't seem to answer. How do I make a perl script pause for a given # of seconds before continuing wo/ any user interaction? This script sends a defined user mail when portsentry (http://www.psionic.com) detects a portscan. Portsentry allows for an external command to be run. Problem is that my script needs to see changes that portsentry makes to a few key files--this script is being run before those changes are made and I can't change that. I can however launch this script in the background so that portsentry could continue like normal and make the needed changes--my perl script needs to pause for a few seconds after its launch for this to work though. Any ideas? The script isn't really fancy but it is useful. To work right, it just needs to pause. Thanks, Justin BTW, this isn't exactly a *Mac* perl question but I thought I'd ask anyways since I'm already a list member. :-) -- -- Justin Shore K-State Linux Distro Mirror, Sysadmin macdaddy@vinnie.ksu.ksu.edu <http://vinnie.ksu.ksu.edu/mirror/rpm2html> <ftp://vinnie.ksu.ksu.edu/pub/mirror/linux> *Internet2 Users* <ftp://quest.ksu.ksu.edu/pub/mirror/linux> # ===== Want to unsubscribe from this list? # ===== Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-request@macperl.org
