For the webserver software, I ended up using Apple Web Sharing - it may already be installed on your machine. Look for Web Sharing in the Control Panels. It's on the OS8.5 CD I think. Lasar Liepins <lasar@liepins.de> has an excellent page on how to configure Web Sharing to handle cgi's at http://www.liepins.de/etc/macwebserver.php If you have any trouble, email me privately and I'll dig out the code I was testing, and show you how I did it. It produced a new webpage based on data inputted on a webpage form. But I was developing it on my laptop in standalone mode.
