A quick search with MP3 gives tagged Latest release tagged-0.25.tar.gz MP3::Tag::ID3v2 Read / Write ID3v2.3 tags from mp3 audio files 0.25 Unfortunately, it certainly doesn't appear to be Mac compatible. It complains about redefining subroutines in Zlib.pm and a whole string of errors. Maybe you could get the author to fix it...
