Alpha pipes all of the error messages and output from MacPerl to other Alpha windows. You seem to be stressing the word "ALL", but I don't appear to miss any errors or output??? I can't speak for BBEdit, but I've never heard this complaint before. > HOW can I get the same for colorful sizy styly scripty > TexEdit Again, I'm not sure of your point. If you're asking how TextEdit can capture the output and error messages, the answer is it can't. If you're asking can Alpha and BBEdit automatically colorize or stylize your code or are they scriptable, then the answer is yes. > And it does not have a 32-k-restriction (but 64 k). Both Alpha and BBEdit don't have limits on file size. You're limited only by your available disk space. This is important, since quite often my data files are many megs deep and I still use my editor to verify that the data is being written properly. I've yet to create a perl script as big as 64K, but I don't find that beyond the real of possibilities. > It seams to me a pity that seemingly no one uses > FileMaker as MacPerl Editor?! Both Alpha and BBEdit are programmers editors. As such, they have features that appeal to programmers. The features are too numerous to list, and I don't want to evangelize. I just don't understand your issues with these editors (as stated) or your affinity to FileMaker as an editor, for that matter. jay # ===== Want to unsubscribe from this list? # ===== Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to macperl-request@macperl.org
