>From: Derek Balling <dredd@megacity.org> > ObTopic: There is no such thing as "Fun With Perl" on NT. ;-) Technically true of [insert language on platform here] when you are first starting out ;-) I spent many nights crying over having many COBOL and/or RPG II programs due at the same time and not having any idea whether it would be worth it to switch to C. You get the idea :) Seriously though ... I wouldn't say that per se. Just about 99% of everything posted here should run on MacOS, NT, etc, without much change. Sure, there are NT specific libraries, just as there are MacOS specific libraries. Just the nature of platform development, that and each author's attempts at squeezing the best performance out of the platform and wishing to maintain a specific set of compatibility's on said platform. For example, so far the only piece of code that wouldn't work out of the starting gate is MJD's recent script using PIPE... So, turn your inquiry into a FWP oriented post and post away - I am sure someone with NT or over all better perl experience would point you in the right direction. If not, there is always C.L.P.MISC HTH, -Sneex- :] ______________________________________________________________________ Bill Jones Data Security Specialist http://www.fccj.org/cgi/mail?dss ______________________________________________________________________ We are the CLPM...
