If you want to remove all unnecessary whitespace, here's a possibly fun challenge. Write a script to do it. Slurp in a script and zap all those nasty whitespaces. For extra credit, have the same script be reversible to expand all the "standard" whitespaces, like CRs, tabs, etc. trowt. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ronald J Kimball <rjk@linguist.dartmouth.edu> To: DeRobertis <derobert@erols.com> Cc: Aaron Crane <aaron.crane@pobox.com>; <fwp@technofile.org> Sent: Sunday, August 08, 1999 1:25 AM Subject: Re: [FWP] Eliminating whitespace does not usefully shorten code On Sun, Aug 08, 1999 at 02:11:47AM -0400, DeRobertis wrote: > I must agree with the origonal poster. Personally, I find it quite fun to try to squeeze Perl programs into as few characters as possible, *including whitespace*. There are tricks to minimizing whitespace, just as there are tricks to removing regular characters. Don't dictate my fun. Ronald ==== Want to unsubscribe from Fun With Perl?
