Re: [FWP] Perl Moral Support

I just laugh at them. I mean, vb programmers are REAL programmers? REAL
programmers have meetings about planning times to have meetings to plan a
project that will change at a fundamental level eleven times before
completion? REAL programmers need buttons and wizards?

You know as well as I do that you give me a p133 and I'll outprogram (in
perl) a c programmer for text processing (etc.) on a k7/850. Probably outrun
them too. :-) Few mistakes, 1/100th the code, no null terminated arrays of 8
or 16 byte ascii characters, no memory overflows. I'm in the coffee room
drinking chamomile and staring at the flowers out the window dreaming of
when I was 19 and having sex eleven times a day, and they're in there
sweating trying to get the program done so they can go home with less than 3
hours of overtime for the day in time to feed their goldfish.

All programmers think their language is the best, until they learn about 5.
At that point, they can begin to judge merits of one language over another.
Other than that, it's just idiots refusing to try anything new and
justifying their laziness or ineptitude with FUD. You know they're idiots,
don't let them get to you.

I've never met a C programmer whom I would call an upper eschelon programmer
who knew fewer than 5 languages at a professional level (and html doesn't
count as a language).

... for that matter neither does java, but that's a different subject ...

anyway, all in fun.
