I figured this group would be a good source of info ... if I'm off base here, please forgive. A client of mine has asked what it would take to write a natural language parser for a search engine, somewhat like the "Ask Jeeves" interface. I figure it can't be that easy, or else everyone would be doing it! However, as a start: has there been any natural langauge parser work done, that's publicly available? ObFWP: Is Perl the sort of langauge that you'd use if you had to parse "Where can I find out about cheap air fares?" vs. "What is the cheapest air fare I can get from Chicago to Orlando?" vs. "How do I get cheap airline tickets?" ---- I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" -- Larry Wall ___________ Jeff Boes <>< jboes@qtm.net Mur Consulting http://murconsulting.hypermart.net/ ==== Want to unsubscribe from Fun With Perl?
