This is off-topic. In an article I read recently, the author stated that all programmers/developers/administrators should be proficient in two programming languages. He suggested Perl as your scripting language and then either C/C++ or Java as your application development language. From a professional standpoint, is having two languages a good idea? For myself, Perl seems to handle all of my needs, but it is also the only language I really know (excluding SQL and Informix ACE Report Language). Would another language be a good idea? On a semi-related note, does anyone have any comments on Metroworks CodeWarrior program?
