Howdy! I have occasion to learn CORBA. On Linux, I am using Python/Fnorb. I would like to play with its language and platform independence, and have contemplated both Java and MacPerl on a Mac. When I look under CORBA on CPAN, I find CORBA-ORBit 0.3.0. It uses an XS, which is both a minus and a plus, the minus being the obvious and the plus being yet another opportunity to learn how to compile XS's on a Mac. Does anyone have any words of wisdom to help me in the contemplation of this task, like this is the wrong implementation of CORBA for perl (I have also seen mention of something called COPE), that you have looked at this port and it is exceedingly difficult, etc?
