Now you just need to make the changes for 5.005_62.  ;-)

Also, the library stuff will need some a lot of testing done on them, I am
sure.  Some of these new modules have never been used with MacPerl before
(Thread and Test come to mind immediately) and some have never worked
(Sys::Syslog) (this falls under your testing thing below).

Sure.  I'll plan on all of the libraries that are bundled now, plus the
stuff in cpan-mac.

What I would like to do is make a list of every module (core and non-core)
that we are bundling, along with links to the current source or
distribution, and note on each whether or not it needs to be modified,
notes with what modifications need to be made, etc. ad nauseum.

Also, we need documentation reworkage; primarily, as has been discussed, I
think we just need to rework the few docs on the top level.  I can work on
this if you like.  I'd like to PODify it all.
