I can take a stab a answering this:

1) This is true to the best of my knowledge

I still haven't cleared my "MacPerl" inbox (I redirect email from the MacPerl Lists into its own folder, so I have what may be at this point the only archive of messages for this list (I know it'll be added to the REAL archive soon, hopeully?). Very early on, Rich presented us with the following list of potential columns:

   ? Brian McNett ???
? Chris Nandor The MacPerl Glue Package
   ? Matthias Neeracher MacPerl 5.5(?)
   ? Arved Sandström ???
? David Steffen MacPerl & CGI Scripts
? Bruce Van Allen Grep, Map, & Sort

Chris says he's been (until very recently) sidetracked with his new job at Andover.net (They've hired him to maintain the codebase that powers Slashdot, I believe), so I take it his article is not ready. He goes back to telecommuting soon, or so I've heard. The MacPerl 5.5 article, (should be MacPerl 5.6?) will have to wait until Matthias finishes work on the new version (of MacPerl), so I won't even TOUCH it for now. Bruce's 'Grep, Map, Sort' article is not MacPerl-specific, and although I don't want to discourage him from writing it, or even discussing it in this forum, running it in "Script Different" may not work well. Neither Arved, nor I have anything concrete (although I now have the BBEdit Filters column to do (Part one of "Cool BBEdit Tricks", Part two potentially written by Chris)).

So, yes, David, that leaves you. I have a copy of your previous text sitting in BBEdit as I write this. We can go over modifications and changes together.

2) The deadline, as I understand it, is four days from now, March 15 (Beware the ides of March!) Four days doesn't seem like much time, but your piece needs little work.

3) HTML for the final draft (I'm not sure of specific details, perhaps we can get a template from Baiju? At the very least, look at previous columns at PerlMonth. The important bit there being the HTML within the text-table to the right.) Plain-Text is suitable for first-drafts.

4) As point-man, submissions should come through me. We can check with Rich on that.

5) If you're open to public scrutiny, by all means feel free to post to this list. Alternatively, as point-man for the effort, I'm de-facto "volunteered" to be willing to review submissions ;-)

Side point: We need to make the shift from "Script Different" being authored by Vicki, to it being a "Community-Based" effort, official (I'll take credit only for having dumped myself in the eye of this particular hurricane). Baiju needs to be informed, if he hasn't already, and brought up to speed on the direction the coulmn is headed (which is pretty much just staying the course as set).
