Everybody: 1. First, thanks to the many folks who responded to my request for a low-memory solution to viewing the perl docs. 2. I'm having a little glitch with the solution I opted for. The problem was that I wanted a low memory (both RAM and HD) way to view the docs for MacPerl. The simplest route, based on many helpful suggestions was something called "HTML viewer". I found it, installed it, and set the appropriate settings with "configure". It's not quite working though. I can fire up HTML viewer directly and it interprets the documents just fine. However, I can't get MacPerl to successfully send documents to it. What happens is that it seems to find the HTML viewer application and starts it, but then it just hangs and no document is displayed. I originally set the http helper to html viewer. I then added a 'file' helper and also set that to html viewer (based on the error i got from MacPerl). Is anybody successfully using HTML viewer to view the docs? I probably could just use 'macweb' instead, as several people suggested, but my impression was that that required more memory and, of course, now I'm caught up in making this work!
