[MacPerl] OSAPerl Beta

I'm trying to test the OSAPerl Beta with Hypercard 2.3.  I'm having 
difficulty figuring out how to do basic things like:

1.  Use a perl script attached to a button to access data in a card 
field.

2.  redirect data from a card field to a perl script.

I know this is Beta, but a short list of what sort of perl 
functionality is supported and a brief description of how OSA 
compliant tools are supposed to use this extension would be helpful.
I promise to pass results along to the group.

P.S.  I had similar problems with Tim Endre's OSAtcl component.  Tim 
maintains that there was a problem with Hypercard 2.2's OSA 
implementation and spoke to someone on the then Claris Hypercard 
development team at the time.  If there is a problem and we can 
isolate it, maybe we can get the "Apple" hypercard team to implement 
the fix.
