I guess it's my fault for letting that file lie around in my ftp directory; now there seems to be no way to re-bag that cat except to let everyone who's interested get his fair share of crashes. The file is ftp://err.ethz.ch/pub/neeri/MacPerl/Beta/MacPerl_OSA_12Feb96.sit.bin It contains a PowerPC only OSA component which runs on my machine but apparently not necessarily elsewhere. The component can't do scripting contexts, it can't handle AppleEvents, it doesn't respect the active procedure, it is not recordable and there is no documentation, so I doubt that it's going to be much use to any of you. > Does this mean that since Frontier is OSA compatible I >can write Perl in the Frontier App and it will compile it? I haven't tried yet. It is unlikely that this is going to do anything useful. Oh yeah, regarding the "compiling" thing: The OSA component does not compile stuff any more than the application does; the compiled representation is identical to the source. Me, I'm now working on AppleEvent support, because that's what's holding up most of the progress in both the application and the OSA.
