Stuffit 1.5.1 was the "compress" algorithm combined with an archiving format. The archiving format has remained pretty much the same, but the algorithm is now much better, but proprietary. Maybe you could contact Aladdin <support@aladdinsys.com>, but I'm not aware of an Unix expander, just DOS and Windows. What *could* be done is to start distributing material in gzip format instead of StuffIt.
