[MacPerl] Calling a Perl Application from AppleScript

Hi,

I would like to call a Perl script from an AppleScript application, passing
in a few parameters.

First, what syntax do I use in AppleScript to call the Perl application
(passing in the parameters).  And second, how do I access these parameters
in the Perl script.

I apologize for asking such a newbie question, but I am really stuck.
