Hello, I'm webmaster for a commercial site and we are looking to upgrade it to include a site-specific search engine and possibly on-line ordering. However, I have no programming experience except for html; I've always used a Mac and don't know UNIX etc. I'm told the server at my provider (which uses Perl), Best Internet, is UNIX and won't work properly with MacPerl-generated scripts. Would this be true? How long do you think it would take a reasonably diligint person with *no* programming experience to learn the CGI language? Lastly, what are reasonable charges for installing a search form and a ordering form/shopping cart for a site with about 80 products? I appreciate any and all comments.
