Short answer: no. Long answer: it depends on the script; if you use any Mac-specific features, or if you forget to convert your MacPerl script (basically a Mac text file) into a UNIX text file (which most FTP programs do automatically for you), then it will not work. But if you use only Perlisms that work on both Mac and UNIX, and you convert your text files properly, and they have a modern version of Perl (5.002 or better) installed properly, then you should have no problem. >How long do you think it would take a reasonably diligint person with >*no* programming experience to learn the CGI language? I was doing fairly sophisticated stuff in about 2-3 months, with only the old llama book. With books like "CGI Programminf on the World Wide Web" and other nifty books that have come along since then, you could probably be up and running nifty CGIs in a month or so. Maybe sooner if you devote a lot of time to it. >Lastly, what are reasonable charges for installing a search form and a >ordering form/shopping cart for a site with about 80 products? Money? Didn't you know, Perl and money don't mix? ;-) -- Chris Nandor pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ %PGPKey=('B76E72AD',[1024,'0824 090B CE73 CA10 1FF7 7F13 8180 B6B6']) ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
