I have a script written in Perl4 that uses dbmopen & dbmclose. I moved it to a new machine and now it does not work. I am running Perl 5.1.3r2 under MacOS 7.6.1. I had to make a couple of minor changes when I moved the script because some of the file paths changed. The script checks OK for syntax and runs fine when I open it and use "Run Script.." within MacPerl. I have it saved as a runtime app. When I double click on the runtime app or when it is started by my scheduling software (the real way I want it to be run), I get a message in the MacPerl window: "# No dbm found on this machine.." I am confused as to why it would work from within MacPerl but not as a runtime app. Can anyone help out with any ideas? Do I need to rewrite the dbmopen/dbmclose lines in Perl5 tie:... commands? Do I need to add a "use" statement if I stay with the dbmopen syntax? Any and all help will be appreciated.
