Actually, HTML does care - a lot! :-)

It's just that MacPerl takes care of this problem now.
This is one of the reasons why C programs do not
(sometimes) work with HTML on some systems. The C program
does not return the proper line endings. :-) Up until
recently, MacPerl had to send information back to the web
server via the MacPerl::Reply command. But Matthias (with
help from others or by himself?) fixed this problem. (For
which >I< am eternally grateful for!)
