Actually, it seems essential for editing droplets and CGIs that hide scripts in text resources. (Have I missed something?) I enjoy using the built-in editor and have (happily) learned to live with its foibles. I think it would be helpful to upgrade the editor, but I see no reason to expect Matthias to do it. There must be free C/C++ text edit source out there (I've seen something called WASTE for example.) Some kind C hacker should volunteer (hint, hint). Just to keep things in perspective, MacPerl is WAY ahead of the Win95 port we use. The "development environment" is a DOS prompt. Matthias has done a great job exploiting the Mac GUI to put a kinder, more intuitive face on Perl. Hats Off!!
