Actually, it seems essential for editing droplets and CGIs that hide
scripts in text resources. (Have I missed something?) I enjoy using the
built-in editor and have (happily) learned to live with its foibles. I
think it would be helpful to upgrade the editor, but I see no reason to
expect Matthias to do it. There must be free C/C++ text edit source out
there (I've seen something called WASTE for example.) Some kind C hacker
should volunteer (hint, hint).

Just to keep things in perspective, MacPerl is WAY ahead of the Win95 port
we use. The "development environment" is a DOS prompt. Matthias has done a
great job exploiting the Mac GUI to put a kinder, more intuitive face on
Perl. Hats Off!!
