Re: [MacPerl] Are there any SQL DBI's for Mac & NT? (fwd)

The only other thing I can offer up is that I remember
reading through a magazine called the "Database Advisor".
It seemed that one of the major oil companies wanted a
remote sensing and tracking device to be controlled from a
major city in America (the site was in Alaska and yes -
Alaska is a part of America but they meant the 48 states).
Anyway, they used Perl (MacPerl to be specific) and SQL and
a database and a satellite connection to do all of this. I
remember that they used some SQL software which is already
out there and is free (or cost very little).

This was from about three years back. However, have you
tried going to Yahoo! and just typing in "+sql"? This
would make everything which comes back have to have the
letters SQL in it. You could also narrow down the field of
search by using "+perl" in there too.

Ok - I just did this and it came back with five things.
Not much but a start. Afterwards you can go to WebCrawler,
Alta Vista, or one of the other search engines to see what
all comes up. :-)
