Friends, I've searched the FAQs, archives, and web sites for days without finding the answer to this question. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Is there a Mac DBI for SQL databases that also works on NT? I have a relatively simple relational database that will employ maybe 20 tables and up to 2000-3000 records total. The web site that uses the database is on an NT server. I develop on a mac (of course!). I wrote a very simple hash-lookup database thing to get us off the ground, but it won't be long before volume begins to slow it down, so I'm looking for an alternative. I'd like to use SQL, but it seems there are no pure SQL databases on the Mac. Access, from what I hear, will never be ported, and the reviews that I have seen of FMPro and 4D have been dubious and unclear on the subject. So, I guess this is really a two-part question: (a) Are there any SQL-compatible database systems for Mac? (b) Is there a DBI for such a database that will also work under NT? If not, I guess I'm going to have to switch my development environment over to NT so I can do my testing there, a prospect I hardly relish. Thanks for any help, and sorry if I missed an obvious answer in a public place. ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
