Ok, the _ONLY_ reason I'm writing back on this is because of the laugh I got when I went to the Webster Dictionary WWW site and asked about multitasking and multiprocessing. Here are the results: multitasking <computer, parallel> (Or "multi-tasking", "multi-processing", "multiprogramming", "concurrency") A technique used in an {operating system} for sharing a single processor between several independent jobs. The first multitasking operating systems were designed in the early 1960s. multiprocessing n : simultaneous processing by two or more processing units [syn: parallel processing] So I guess the only difference in the definition of multiprocessing is.......a hyphen. :-) ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
