I once installed MPW just so that I could get to MPW perl. The main
advantage of MPW perl over MacPerl is the increased control via the command
line. You also get access to the other MPW tools, which may or may not be
of any use to you. Another option is ToolServer, which is a slimmed down
(less space, easier to install, no interactive command line) version of
MPW. You should be able to find it at the same place that you got MPW.

I don't have MPW installed right now, but if I lost access to my unix
boxes, I would reinstall it in a hurry. I suppose it all depends on what
you are doing.
