Do not C<use MacPerl> for this.  MakeFSSpec has nothing to do with it.  See
help under MacPerl specifics or see The MacPerl Package review chapter
online for my book (though yes, these errors should not be occuring
regardless).

Ah, I see you have already looked at that chapter ... what you want is
C<package MacPerl>, not C<use MacPerl>.  The MacPerl package (where
MakeFSSpec is located) is built in to MacPerl, while C<use MacPerl> invokes
the MacPerl.pm module, which you do not need for these situations.
