When assigning MacPerl::Volume to an array, is the startup drive "guaranteed" to be the first element? For example, should
use MacPerl; @disks = MacPerl::Volumes; $startup = shift @vols;
always be true? I've tested this on my PowerBook and desktop system (both with OS 8 and MacPerl 518r4), and the pattern seems to be: Startup Volume Other partitions, if any, on startup device Floppy Drive Other drives in order by SCSI ID: 0..7 Rachel McGregor Rawlings Technologist/System Administrator 650-604-4227 (P) ELORET - Thermosciences Institute 650-604-0350 (F) NASA Ames Research Center, Branch STA mailto:rrawlings@mail.arc.nasa.gov M/S 230-2 http://www.eloret.com/ Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000 ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
